What You Need

Window AC unit
Screwdriver
Level
Measuring tape
Foam insulation strips

Step 1: Measure Your Window

Most window ACs fit 23-36 inch wide windows.

Step 2: Install the Bracket

L-bracket on sill, tilt slightly backward for drainage.

Step 3: Place the Unit

Lift and center in the window opening.

Step 4: Extend Side Panels

Fill gaps with accordion panels, lower upper sash.

Step 5: Seal and Insulate

Apply foam strips. Improves efficiency by 10%.

Step 6: Plug In and Test

Grounded outlet only. Never use extension cord.

Common Mistakes

Tilting forward (water drips inside)
